You can enjoy the uncrowded excellent swimming and
surfing conditions at Coastlands beach. While no beach
is safe for children without close supervision, many children
can be seen swimming under the watchful eye of their parents
on most summer weekends.
The seas of the Bay of Plenty, are among the calmest and
warmest in NZ because of the presence of a warm ocean
current and sheltering from the south by the North Island.
